RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for electrical controls engineering including hardware and software designs utilized with bulk solids storage and conveyance and liquid chemical storage, metering, mixing, and industrial process systems.
Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs and control systems for standard and custom bulk solids handling and chemical feed systems used in the water, wastewater and industrial process industries.
Coordinate electrical and control requirements with equipment mechanical design.
Consult with the sales department and clients for the purpose of recommending solutions for project automation requirements.
Ensure electrical equipment and designs meet required standards, such as NEC, IEC, NEMA, UL508A, CSA, NFPA.
Technical writing skills for control narratives and control system O&M’s.
Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers in the area of controls and automation engineering.
Works with service department to conduct in-house factory acceptance testing, and generally provide service department with controls and electrical system support both in-house and at project sites as needed.
Coordinate with the production and QC departments to refine and improve work.
Meet defined schedules, deadlines, and goals.
Provide support for on-site start-ups.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, preferable Electrical, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer skill requirements: Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Allen Bradley RS500, RS5000, FactoryTalk, Modicon & Magelis software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to efficiently learn new PLC and HMI software platforms.

Position Working Environment:

Clean office environment.
Periodic exposure to shop environment containing dust, machine noise and welding equipment.
Periodic standing, walking, and lifting loads under 25 pounds.
