RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for electrical controls engineering including hardware and software designs utilized with bulk solids storage and conveyance and liquid chemical storage, metering, mixing, and industrial process systems.
- Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs and control systems for standard and custom bulk solids handling and chemical feed systems used in the water, wastewater and industrial process industries.
- Coordinate electrical and control requirements with equipment mechanical design.
- Consult with the sales department and clients for the purpose of recommending solutions for project automation requirements.
- Ensure electrical equipment and designs meet required standards, such as NEC, IEC, NEMA, UL508A, CSA, NFPA.
- Technical writing skills for control narratives and control system O&M’s.
- Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers in the area of controls and automation engineering.
- Works with service department to conduct in-house factory acceptance testing, and generally provide service department with controls and electrical system support both in-house and at project sites as needed.
- Coordinate with the production and QC departments to refine and improve work.
- Meet defined schedules, deadlines, and goals.
- Provide support for on-site start-ups.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, preferable Electrical, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer skill requirements: Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Allen Bradley RS500, RS5000, FactoryTalk, Modicon & Magelis software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Ability to efficiently learn new PLC and HMI software platforms.

Position Working Environment:
- Clean office environment.
- Periodic exposure to shop environment containing dust, machine noise and welding equipment.
- Periodic standing, walking, and lifting loads under 25 pounds.
