Mechanical Design Engineer

Patriot3 is seeking a skilled mechanical engineer to join our product development team within the Maritime Division. Candidates will have the ability to display their creativity through the design of specialized maritime combat equipment including: diver propulsion, navigation, and water craft accessories. Engineers at Patriot3 have the unique experience of being able to see their products through every phase of the development process, including design, prototyping, testing, and production. Patriot3 is a small business and thus, engineers should feel comfortable interacting with the machine shop, technicians, sales, and administration.

Engineering responsibilities:

Product design, research, and development
Perform FEA simulations and mathematical analysis of designs
In house and field testing of products
Development of engineering drawings
Working alongside in-house manufacturing and fabrication shops
Providing assembly, installation, and maintenance documentation
Supporting installation and maintenance of customer equipment

Minimum Requirements:

4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
Experience in 3D CAD
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to work both in group settings and individually
Experience in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in product design
2+ years in documentation of detailed technical data
2+ years of experience in SolidWorks
Experience in SolidWorks PDM
Knowledge of basic electrical circuits
Experience with Python, Arduino, C++ or equivalent
Availability for occasional international travel
Open Water Dive certified (PADI or equivalent)
