Description

The Colorado Program Associate will work closely with the Colorado Program Director and the regional support team to carry out SUN’s goals in the state of Colorado.  This position reports to the Colorado Program Director.


Job responsibilities include:

●       Plan and implement solar co-ops across the Western Slope. This includes cultivating partner relationships, engaging with the media, conducting public Solar 101's, holding in-person and virtual events, facilitating the installer selection process, and managing installer relationships with co-op members and SUN.

●       Support our Solar Switch Colorado program by managing relationships with nonprofit and municipal partners. This will involve frequent communication with these groups to coordinate outreach, engagement events, and general updates on how the program is performing across participating cities.

●       Provide administrative support to Denver low-to-moderate income (LMI) solar rebate

projects.

●       Coordinate with Community Impact Associate to develop grassroots community engagement and volunteer development in urban, suburban, and rural communities.

●       Represent the Colorado Program in coalitions and at in-person and digital events.

●       Conduct policy, regulatory, and market research to support the Colorado program's

goals.

●       Engage with legislators, local governments, and partner organizations to advance the

state program's policy and programmatic goals.

●       Provide technical assistance to individuals and entities interested in going solar.

●       Create resources to help SUN's Colorado supporters become more effective and informed

advocates for solar.

●       Lead in-state digital organizing efforts by collaborating with SUN’s digital and communications teams and managing the Colorado Program Facebook page and listserv.

●       Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

●     Resident of Colorado

●     Minimum 2 years of experience (professional or volunteer) with community organizing and project management

●     Ability to work remotely, with frequent in-state travel (1-2 trips/month)

●     Ability to plan and execute presentations and casual events

●     Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

●     Spanish-fluency

●     Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

●     Detail-oriented and eager to take initiative

●     Ability to engage with diverse groups of people

●     Knowledge of social, energy, and/or environmental-related factors in Colorado
