Founded in 2012, the Food and Farm Communications Fund is a participatory and movement-led grant maker providing funding and resources for grassroots organizations and networks working to uplift frontline narratives, build power, and embolden transformative food and farm systems change. We believe in the collective vision of frontline organizers and movement strategists, and together we’re collectively resourcing diverse grassroots movements leading campaigns that recenter our focus on community nourishment, climate resilience, and sustainability. We are searching for a part-time (24 hours per week) Storytelling Content Manager to lead the process of crafting and managing content that harmonizes with FFCF’s communications goals.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Storytelling Content Manager will work with staff of FFCF, contracted communications consultants and partners to execute a communications plan, including facilitate, produce, place, and distribute content across a range of mediums—from written, audio, and visual pieces to in-person events and immersive learning experience. This position will create continuity across FFCF communications, help build the collective voice of FFCF grantee partners, center messaging in equity and justice, and engage in transformative power and movement building practices.
Communications (60% of time)
Organize and strengthen FFCF’s brand and online presence in line with organizational strategies and priorities by identifying and coordinating opportunities to uplift FFCF’s work and thought leadership in FFCF communications, in media, and with current and potential funders.
- Manages all FFCF communications and social media accounts including research, planning, tracking and social listening as well as editing, content development and promotion related to events, media and outreach.
- Manage the editorial calendar to guide the creation, publication, and governance of useful, usable content including creating and editing videos and content for websites, e-mails, and social media.
- Coordinate or assist in the coordination, technical support and facilitation of events, such as virtual events, webinars, partner meetings.
- Develop graphics, infographics, collateral, and other materials as needed, consistent with creative strategies to support FFCF’s goals.
- Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in marketing, digital marketing, and e-philanthropy.
Storytelling (30% of time)
Support the development and implementation of storytelling content across a range of platforms to amplify FFCF’s work and thought leadership and grantee partner’s counter narratives and funded projects.
- Curate storytelling for media platforms to amplify the counter narratives and collective vision of FFCF grantee partners.
- Create images, messaging, and ongoing outreach and engagement materials that support and capture FFCF programs and objectives and reflect the collective culture of partner grantees.
- Demonstrate cultural understanding, humility, and competency as an FFCF representative in the community.
Administration (10% of time)
The Content Storytelling Manager will support the team with administrative and organizational development work.
- Lead the assessment of FFCF’s storytelling and communications needs across audiences and channels.
- Participate in organizational strategy processes.
- Work with the Executive Director to develop, maintain and enhance systems that allow for efficiency and smooth functioning of FFCF communications.

- An appreciation for working with autonomy with a great work ethic, accountability and ability to deal with the ambiguity inherent in reaching disparate audience segments across multiple channels to advance a nonprofit mission.
LOCATION
FFCF is a national virtual organization and fund at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. The Storytelling Content Manager is a remote position that can be based in any of the following states: CA, CT, FL, IL, KS, KY, LA, MO, SC, TN, TX, and WA. \
