As a Web Developer at Ramblin Jackson, you’ll be responsible for executing a foundational part of a Client’s marketing strategy through the building and maintaining of their website. This is a part-time employee position that pays an hourly rate of $25 - $35 per hour based on experience. With the opportunity to grow into a full-time employee with additional benefits.
--Typical Workload
Our heaviest dev time is between December through the end of July, when most new projects are being built. Growth Plan Pages are very consistent month after month.
Drafting New Project Pages: approx. 10 hours per week
At any given time Ramblin Jackson has 8-20 new projects in process. This includes new websites, web copy, SEO optimization and much more. Each new website has about 15-25 new pages being built.
Developers work with our in-house Senior Web Developer and our Project Managers who will be assigning project content. These pages will be built after the design has been completed and the initial Beaver Builder templates built out.
Drafting Monthly Growth Plan Pages: approx. 2-3 hours per week
Ramblin Jackson currently manages 100+ clients with roughly a third of them requiring new content built out every month (about 60 pages a month). Each page needs to be expertly built, with thoughtful placement of images and text, SEO in place, and properly tested.
Growth Plan Website Edits: approx. 2-3 hours per week
Website edits come in from our Growth Plan clients and can range from swapping out a few images, updating forms, adjusting new content or fixing issues. Common issues include broken images, responsive issues, formatting adjustments, etc…
The goal is to take care of our client’s requests quickly with most completed within 48 hours.
--The Junior Web Developers is Responsible for the Following Key Accountabilities:
- Assist in the Development and Building of Visually Engaging Websites using Ramblin Jackson proven processes, established templates, with best website development best practices for WordPress, Genesis and Beaver Builder.
- Drafting and Editing New Website Pages for Projects and Accounts with meticulous attention to detail for placing web copy, page elements, images, SEO and technical settings.
- Efficiently and Effectively Completing Website Edit Requests for Projects and Accounts, including problem solving website issues, content edits, and more technical support. With clear communication to the team and attention to deadlines.
--Responsibilities
Web Developers are responsible for the development and on-going maintenance of our Client’s websites. This is a critical, foundational piece of their business and marketing efforts. This includes expert web development through established best practices, website security monitoring, on-going website maintenance and edits, and website support for their marketing strategy.
- Use your knowledge of HTML, CSS and eye for design to build pages, templated websites and other elements
- Work with the Senior Developer, Project Managers, Account Managers and other team members to complete projects on-time and at a high-quality
- Effectively manage tasks across multiple departments and projects
- Thoroughly test all work for quality control, functionality and responsive behavior
- Clearly and consistently communicate with the team in Asana on all tasks and assignments. Including keeping the team up to date on progress and letting them know of any issues that come up as soon as they arise
- Be able to safely and responsibly edit and work on live websites including taking back ups and working in staging environments
- Problem solve website issues, being resourceful in finding solutions and safely implementing fixes
--Required Technical Skills
- Team collaboration
- Minimum three years WordPress and SEO experience
- Knowledge of WordPress coding standards and best practices
- Experience with working with WordPress in a local environment
- Minimum three years experience in HTML, CSS, and PHP
- Use, modify, and implement Beaver Builder and the Genesis Framework to create fully responsive and fast loading websites
- Solid understanding of UI/UX for lead generating, customer focused websites
- Some experience in Photoshop and Figma (bonus points for some design skills!)
- Some copywriting and SEO knowledge and experience
- Knowledge to fix (or diagnose) hacked WordPress sites
- Experience with optimizing image files and other types of files for the web
- Experience with Gravity Forms, conditional logic, and SMTP for WordPress

- Strong communication + reasoning skills
- Experience with Asana, Toggl, and Google Workspace products
- Team collaboration skills + able to give and receive constructive feedback
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
