What does a great Technical Product Manager do?
The Technical Product Manager (TPM) role in the Emerging Business Pillar sits within the Technology organization and represents the customer on the Agile team. It is the Technical Product Manager’s responsibility to ensure the team is focused on the right work and priority and to help the team achieve their sprint commitments by providing clear and complete requirements. As the Technical Product Manager specializing in digital advertising, ad serving, ad network, and programmatic technologies, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our advertising solutions.
What is advertising at Travelport?
Advertising is a growth area at Travelport and we have great expectations for the upcoming years. We plan to expand our advertising footprint beyond our current point of sale solutions to reach to a larger market and enabling our advertising buyers to execute on their campaigns.
Responsible for developing user stories from collated requirements by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align the product design and development activities to deliver ROI
Accountable for synchronizing with the Product Manager/s and other TPM’s to ensure new work is brought into the backlog and prioritized appropriately
Responsible for ensuring everyone in the team understands the user story and is aligned in the sprint
Responsible for prioritization of the team backlog
Accountable for coordinating with the product delivery team(s) and design colleagues to ensure the required activities are delivered to sufficient/agreed quality, time and budget
Accountable for working with the development team/s and architecture to implement the user stories including all undocumented edge cases and non-functional requirements
Participating in daily stand ups, sprint planning meetings and sprint reviews
Responsible for User Acceptance Criteria & Sign Off
Accountable for system demos
The TPM will develop deep functional product knowledge and an understanding of the technical composition of systems that support it
What we look for/who would prosper in this role?
3 – 5 years of Technical Product Manager, Product Owner experience.
In depth knowledge of digital advertising with working understanding of ad serving, ad platforms, bidding algorithms, programmatic, etc.
Deep understanding of ad serving technologies, ad exchanges, demand-side platforms (DSPs), and supply-side platforms (SSPs).
Hands on experience in programmatic advertising concepts such as RTB, header bidding, ad verification, and ad fraud detection.
Experience working in Agile development environments and using project management tools such as JIRA and Aha!.
Working knowledge of Agile principles
Exposure to technical concepts, product owner techniques, tools & principles
Exposure to Behavior Driven Development
Experience providing online documentation and other resources to external users
Technical/Developer background is a plus
Excellent verbal, written, and attention to detail skills.
Ability and desire to work with people all over the world
Excellent collaboration skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams and facilitate conversations that lead to agreed direction.
Capacity to seek consensus and agreement across multiple stakeholders, bringing diverse opinions together
Ability to resolve conflict for the team and within the team; influencing internal stakeholders
Knowledge of travel tech industry is a plus

Salary Target: $110,000-$130,000
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training
