Position: RPG Developer

About the Job: Buckingham is looking for an eager and qualified candidate to fill the role of RPG Developer. You will design, code, test, debug, and document advanced software systems or applications programs. Solve complex technical problems. Possess knowledge of relevant development environments and protocols. Bachelor's degree and five years of RPG Developer experience preferred.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform programming assignments requiring knowledge of established programming procedures and data processing requirements.
- Maintain and modify programs; make approved changes by developing detailed programming logic and coding.
- Test and develop modifications.
- Write new program code per user needs.
- Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs, e.g. whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part.
- Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs.
- Provide on call support.
- Use judgement in determining best solutions to problem solving, database design and changes, system modifications and hardware and software selection.
- Maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and or systems.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field
- 5+ years of RPG iSeries experience
- RPG/ILE programming skills
- Experience with Windows Server, SQL Server, and DB2
- Java/Web Development skills
- Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise.
- Ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications.
- Ability to determine computer problems and coordinate hardware and/or software solutions.
- General knowledge of networking/PC skills.
- Ability to communicate with and interpret the occasional requirements of end users.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
