Position
This position plays a key role as the face of the Shalom Hartman Institute, building relationships with new individual donors and institutional funders toward achieving SHI NA’s strategic programmatic and philanthropic goals. Focused on New York and Boston as well as the larger tri-state area and Philadelphia, this professional will cultivate a deep understanding of the interests of SHI NA’s target audiences as well as a thorough grasp of the programmatic resources and scholarship the Institute offers.
This creative self-starter will initiate new donor prospecting, plan ongoing donor/prospect events and meetings, manage strategic stakeholder engagement, and promote and recruit for the Hartman Giving Society and the Board of Directors across the region. The ideal candidate will bring at least 8+ years of direct fundraising and major donor programmatic engagement experience with demonstrated ability in relationship management, major gift solicitation, project management, proposal development, and special events planning and execution. This role requires someone who will bring a professional, resourceful, and entrepreneurial style, and who can leverage networks, partnerships and Institute resources to establish a successful fundraising profile for the Shalom Hartman Institute amongst key communities and networks across the target markets across key communities.
The ideal candidate is an experienced fundraising and campaign professional, comfortable in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, who is a confident relationship-builder and strategic gift solicitor, who will be passionate about securing philanthropic resources to advance the Institute’s mission. The roles requires someone who can prioritize among many different responsibilities, is a highly effective verbal and written communicator, with a strong capacity for time-management.
Based in-person in our New York office, this position will report to the Managing Director of Philanthropic Engagement.

Salary range and benefits: $175,000 - $190,000, commensurate with experience. Very competitive benefits package.
