Primary Job Function
Oversee the development of automated control systems. Use PLC programming products, robots and robotic control systems, and automated machine vision, to create these control systems. You also must know how to draft schematics in AutoCAD or similar software package.
Essential Job Functions
- Analyze the processes of the assigned facility
- Identify shortcomings that could be opened by automation
- Design systems that can automate processes
- Maintain and repair systems
Inspect systems to ensure they meet safety regulations
Job Skills
- Proven working experience in controls engineering
- Familiarity with PLC programming
- Experience with proximity, laser measurement, and photoelectroc sensors
- Experience with machine vision software ad hardware
- Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks or other)
- Creativity and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
Technology
- AutoCAD software or comparable for creating schematics
- Basic electrical / electronic tools
Education and Experience:
- AS or BS degree in related field
- 2+ years related experience
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $67,232.41 - $125,624.00 per year
