Trayer Products is seeking a Programmer/Analyst
In this role, you will primarily be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing software applications using Visual Basic, Oracle, Access, and Excel and supporting current ERP and third-party systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement software solutions that meet the needs of a comprehensive metalworking manufacturing company.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain software applications using Visual Basic, Oracle, Access, and Excel.
2. Provide current ERP and third-party systems support for a metalworking manufacturing facility (VISUAL Manufacturing, Kebrite, Mainsaver, VisualSPC and others).
3. Collaborate with cross functional teams including manufacturing, sales, quality assurance, and finance to gather relevant needs and translate them into software technical specifications.
4. Design, code, test, and debug software applications, ensuring they adhere to established coding standards and best practices as well as meet the appropriate needs of the organization.
5. Modify existing software to add new features, improve functionality, or enhance performance.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues, providing timely support and resolution to end-users.
7. Collaborate cross functionally to ensure seamless integration and operation of software applications.
8. Perform data analysis and develop programs using Access (or VB.Net) to provide insights and support decision-making processes.
9. Maintain documentation for software applications, including system designs, user manuals, and technical specifications.
10. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to software development, Visual Basic, Oracle, Access, and Excel.
11. Routine IT maintenance tasks and PC/device support.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field or 5 years related experience.
2. Proven experience in software development using Visual Basic, Oracle, Access, and Excel.
3. Strong knowledge of database concepts, SQL, and data manipulation.
4. Proficiency in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and experience developing macros in Excel.
5. Solid understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and best practices.
6. Familiarity with Oracle database administration and SQL.
7. Experience in developing and maintaining Access databases and familiarity with Access forms, queries, and reports.
8. Experience with supporting PCs and other IT equipment is helpful.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve software defects effectively.
10. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
11. Detail-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
12. Experience or training in EDI (creating maps, setting up trading partnerships, user support) is a plus.
13. Experience supporting an ERP system (VISUAL Manufacturing or similar system) is also a plus.
14. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
