Partners for Our Children (P4C) works to improve the lives of vulnerable children and families, especially those involved in the child welfare system. P4C pursues policy reform and systems change by conducting research and advancing evidence-informed policies, programs, and practices that promote healthy child development. Our activities include systems assessment, workforce development supports, program evaluation, intervention development and testing, data science and analytics, and public policy research, analysis, and advocacy at the state and federal levels. P4C is based on campus at the UW. We have the opportunity to leverage the academic community to optimize our work. P4C has an outstanding opportunity for a part time, 20 hour per week, Communications and Digital Marketing Specialist (Web Information Specialist (NE S 7)) to manage communications and outreach and support dissemination of program materials.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Web development, maintenance and support - 60%:
Work closely with P4C executive director and project leads to design, develop and implement web site features and content.
Present content, information and data using WordPress and additional plug-ins as needed.
Regularly test the site, monitor analytics, and seek user feedback to improve and enhance site; maintain and update design specifications, a front-end style guide and/or pattern library to establish consistency of site design and user experience.
Perform debugging and documentation of the user interface and front-end components, including elements such as page templates, web forms, and third-party integrations.
Maintain, edit and update content in consultation with director and project leads.
Analyze problems and modify user interface designs to best serve user needs and organizational goals and work with stakeholders to ensure issues are clarified, addressed, and completed in a timely manner.
Content Development and Management - 20%:
In collaboration with P4C director and project leads, develop communication goals and strategy; research, develop and edit digital and printed materials to support organizational and project-specific goals.
Create digital graphics for the website, social media and e-marketing platforms, as needed.
Implement strategy for social media platforms, manage accounts; create and monitor social media content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. according to overall strategic plan.
Coordinate dissemination of information and evidence to advance policy and practice reforms to prevent child abuse and neglect, minimize system involvement, and to support child and family well-being.
Digital marketing and Outreach - 20%:
Design and implement online outreach and marketing content, such as blogposts, brochures, briefing papers, infographics, marketing videos and promotional communications.
Track, and report on effectiveness of digital marketing materials, performance of outreach and dissemination activities, and return on investment of these activities.
Implement engagement strategies to reach distinct audiences including but not limited to policy makers, state government administrators, child and family service system partners, practitioners, private philanthropy, researchers, constituent groups and media outlets.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, Language Arts or related field.
Minimum of two years of experience in web design and development to include:
Experience with JavaScript, jQuery, and Responsive Web Design (RWD).
Debugging, testing, and troubleshooting websites and cross-browser compatibility.
A solid understanding of the principles of user experience and promoting usability best practices.
Web performance and accessibility, including image optimization.
Basic understanding of backend web technologies.
At least 1-year experience using WordPress / Elementor (Applicants should have experience with writing quality and well documented HTML, CSS and JavaScript and creating responsive websites including mobile-first design methods using WordPress CMS and the Elementor Framework among other tool).
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Skilled experience in social media, social networking, email marketing.
Strong writing and editing skills; excellent grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.
Strong time management, organizational skills, attention to detail.
Demonstrated strength in interdisciplinary collaboration, consensus-building and strategic thinking.
Demonstrated ability to balance multiple demands simultaneously under time constraint and meet project deadlines and deliverables.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to work effectively with all partners, including experience working with people with diverse social identities, and working across differences with cultural humility.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, English, or related field.
3+ years of experience in web communications, publications development, marketing, journalism and/or related areas.
Lived experience with the child welfare or juvenile legal system or services.
Experience and familiarity with Tribes and tribal organizations.
Child welfare practice or policy advocacy experience.
