Location: The location for this position will be based out of East Hanover, NJ and follow a hybrid working model.
The Global Head Corporate Marketing’s purpose is to build and sustain the Novartis brand as relevant, inclusive, and compelling for our stakeholders. As a key leader on the Corporate Affairs team, this position will drive the continued development, internal and external promotion, and evolution of the Novartis corporate brand identity as the company continues to grow and expand in size, scope, markets and audiences. The ideal candidate will align corporate brand vision throughout the company and champion corporate brand awareness and advocacy.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, this person will be accountable for working closely with teams across Corporate Affairs, as well as with other business partners to develop insights, make decisions, and take action to drive Corporate brand growth and consistency.
Major accountabilities:
- Brand Strategy and Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive Corporate brand strategy that aligns with the company's goals and mission. Define, refine, steward and continually innovate a compelling brand positioning and roadmap that inspires and clarifies who we are to our stakeholders, while making the case for relevance and differentiation.
- Build and maintain a modern methodology for measuring brand health, tracking the return on investment of brand initiatives, evaluating metrics and contextualizing brand health strengths and weaknesses to adjust brand strategy. Partner with our research team to design and implement quantitative and qualitative audience research in service of brand strategy and understanding our competition.
- Govern Corporate channels and vehicles to ensure aligned and consistent messaging, look and feel that upholds the Corporate Brand, as well as develop and implement strategy for corporate advertising, sponsorships and events
- Lead external creative teams and partner with other key internal functions to conceptualize and implement innovative brand experiences, campaigns and marketing initiatives that achieve desired outcomes with stakeholders. Lead all aspects of the development of brand guidelines and ensure consistency in execution across all company touchpoints. Ensure all creative assets are in line with the brand's vision and resonate with the target audience.
- Creative Direction: Provide creative direction and inspiration to the in-house and out of house creative teams and agencies, including graphic and digital designers, copywriters, and videographers.
- Content Creation: Drive the creation of compelling, engaging, and shareable corporate brand content across various platforms, including digital, social media, print, and video.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to produce content that tells the company's story and supports marketing initiatives, as well as stay current with industry trends, competitive landscapes, and customer preferences to inform brand and creative strategies.
- Campaign Management: Partner with your peers to build and implement integrated marketing campaigns that enhance corporate brand visibility and generate excitement about our company Monitor campaign performance, analyze data, and adapt strategies for maximum impact.
- Provide support company-wide to ensure consistency of corporate brand in congresses, conferences, investor events and other events as needed, as well as act as point of contact with external agencies and partners, leading communication and providing strategic/creative feedback while leading approval
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead an impactful team, fostering a culture of brand marketing expertise and innovation, as well as run the budget for the brand, optimizing resources to achieve maximum results.
This opportunity is located at the Novartis East Hanover (NJ) site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. Relocation assistance may be available.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $270,400 and $405,600 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
