Our vision is to make barrels accessible to anyone and everyone and we do this by supplying premium used bourbon, whiskey, wine and specialty barrels to our customers. Due to our rapid growth, we are looking to add to our marketing team at our Louisville, KY location.
Position Overview
The e-commerce manager at Midwest Barrel Co. is responsible for the sale of product on our online sales platforms: our website (a Shopify Plus platform) and Amazon Seller Central. Under the direction of our VP of Marketing, this role will be responsible for coordinating with the agency partners and our in-house digital marketing team to improve user engagement and increase online sales.
We are currently looking for a serious, direct and analytical person to work in our fast-paced e-commerce department. An ideal candidate is highly reliable, process driven and able to execute with a high degree of expediency and accuracy. This position will entail working with a team of marketing professionals to oversee the management of our Shopify e-commerce website and Amazon Seller Central. The right applicant will feel comfortable taking the lead and familiar with UX, web design, customer flow and web analysis. This position has a ton of growth potential at a small but fast growing company that is focused on leveraging technology to make barrels accessible to everyone.
ResponsibilitiesShopify Plus E-Commerce Management
- Operational Excellence: Manage all online activities related to traffic acquisition, sales, conversion, A/B testing, and apply updates to the platform to attract and retain customers.
- Sales and Conversion Optimization: Analyze sales data, stock levels, and web analytics to optimize sales and improve conversion rates. Develop pricing strategies in partnership with the procurement team. Oversee product listing creation, website uploads and landing pages development.
- E-Commerce Strategies: Implement strategies to enhance website performance and speed, especially on mobile, and evaluate website design for improvements.
- Market Research and Compliance: Initiate market research studies and evaluate legal disclaimers and website content for compliance, accuracy, and brand alignment.
Collaboration and Analysis
- Cross-functional Teamwork: Collaborate with web developers, graphic designers, copywriters, and software developers to produce marketing assets, attractive e-commerce websites, and ensure user-friendly and engaging content.
- Marketing and Promotion: Work closely with the marketing team to improve traffic acquisition and partner with digital marketing channels across PPC, SEO, Display, affiliates, email marketing, and social media.
- Product and Content Management: Oversee product listing creation, website uploads, and the development of landing pages.
- Performance Reporting: Create performance reports on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis for leadership review, focusing on insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
AMAZONAmazon Account Management and Optimization
- Account Health and Performance: Collaborate with our Amazon Account Manager to enhance account health, troubleshoot issues, improve performance, monitor inventory levels, and optimize the customer service experience.
- Listing Management: Ensure all listings with inventory are active, monitor listings for accuracy, and correct problems as they arise. Communicate and manage cases with Amazon Support to resolve issues promptly.
- Audit and Optimization: Conduct audits and optimize product listings on the Amazon platform to improve visibility and sales.
- Strategic Analysis: Assist with forecasting, profitability analysis, inventory management, pricing strategies, and promotional activities specific to Amazon. Perform keyword discovery and competitor analysis to refine the paid search strategy.
- Content and Review Management: Upload content for product listings, provided by the in-house creative team, and manage product reviews to maintain a positive brand image.
Amazon Advertising and Promotions
- Cutting Edge Marketing: Stay informed about the latest Amazon marketing tools and opportunities within both Vendor and Seller Central, including Amazon Advertising, AMS (Amazon Marketing Services), AMG (Amazon Media Group), DSP (Demand Side Platform), and promotional options like Best Deals, Lightning Deals, Coupons, and Cross-Promotions.
- Advertising Strategy: Handle keyword research, ad creation, bid management, and produce advertising reports to optimize campaign performance.
- Product and Listing Enhancement: Engage in product research and listing optimization to ensure products are competitive and visible to potential customers.
- Promotional Management: Manage and schedule Amazon promotions to maximize sales opportunities and brand visibility.
Reporting
- Performance Reporting: Provide comprehensive weekly, monthly, and yearly reports to leadership, detailing account performance, advertising results, and strategic insights for ongoing improvement.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- SEO Strategy & Optimization: Experience in developing SEO strategies to improve online visibility and rankings. Proficient in keyword research, trend analysis, and website content optimization.
- Content Collaboration: Ability to work with copywriters and marketing teams to produce compelling, SEO-friendly content. Familiarity with optimizing content for brand consistency and user experience.
- Copywriting Skills: Skilled in crafting clear, concise, and engaging copy for websites, promotional materials, and product descriptions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
