CNC Machinist/Welder/Programmer

Essential Functions:
The CNC Machinist/Welder/Programmer produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine and or robotic welder; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
. Set up mills and lathes
. Knowledge of 5-Axis mills
. Program and troubleshoot robotic welders and can perform mig and tig welding and touch ups at established quality and efficiency standards to meet production schedule and provide training for operators.
. Provide support in developing and improving welding processes.
. Set up all jobs according to blueprint specifications and tolerances.
. Operating other equipment as necessary and directed by the production supervisor (grinding, sanding, Benders, etc.).
. Troubleshoot part fit-up problems.
. Maximize production efficiency by reducing equipment downtime and perform simple maintenance and repair as required.
. Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e., continual improvements and make recommendations for new equipment design / purchase.
. Working safely as a condition of employment.
. Knowledge of robot basics and general mig welding maintenance
. Provide support in the diagnosis and resolution of welding equipment failures.
. Interpret blueprints for machining processes.
. Verify dimensions through all machine operations.
. Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, sample parts, and materials.
. Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
Skills and Requirements:
. 5 years proven experience as CNC programmer and operator
. Trade school, apprenticeship, or degree in related field a plus.
. Ability to read and edit code at controller (speed, feeds, spindle direction, etc.)
. Knowledge of basic machine cutting tools
. Program parts/fixtures using CAD/CAM software (FUSION 360) is desired.
. General knowledge of G-Code to manipulate programs to maintain specifications by serving drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls is desired.
. Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
. Skills in operating and troubleshooting a bender a plus.
. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
. Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming
. Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
. Excellent communication abilities
. Attention to detail.
. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
. Must possess open availability and be able to work overtime as needed.
. Ability to collaborate well with a team and have the desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others.
. Must be initiative-taking and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
