As a Senior Software Engineer, you will serve on a cross-functional team to contribute to technology solutions that will realize the business partners product vision and achieve business objectives.
- Work on a product or platform team, applying independent judgement to complete highly complex tasks and address unique challenges.
- Use TXM enterprise architecture principles and policies to help the team research, design, develop/configure, test, debug, and implement modern software solutions that meet the needs of partners/customers and consider non-functional, as well as functional requirements.
- Influence a culture of teamwork and collaboration focused on continuous improvement and increased team performance, following DevSecOps best practices to increase security, quality, and performance of implemented solutions.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships across IT including other product or platform teams, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure & Operations, Security, and the Program Management Office
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships across the enterprise, including business partners and the Product and Agile Coaching organizations.
- Serve as technical leader on the team, providing mentorship, guidance, and oversight in all technical areas needed to deliver the product vision.
- Primarily design, develop, modify, test, debug, and maintain GOSU language application code within Guidewire ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and/or ContactManager, covering all parts of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Participate in various planning and development activities.
- Resolve production system issues as they arise.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure optimal system performance, quality, and responsiveness.
Required Skills:
- At least four years of related work experience or equivalent education, training, or experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent education, training, or experience.
- Certified as a Guidewire Cloud Developer.
- Strong knowledge of Java, including Java EE, XML, and JUnit.
- Proven experience with web services development, including REST and SOAP protocols.
- Proficient in using Maven for building applications and Continuous Integration tools for automating code testing.
- Experience in web application development with a solid understanding of Object-oriented programming, integration patterns, solution design, and data modeling.
- Solid experience in the design, development, modification, and deployment of software adhering to design standards and best practices.
- Proven experience with working on any relational databases.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge spanning various domains of application development, and a deep understanding of development methodologies and the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Skilled in using common programming tools, with a demonstrated ability to follow software specifications.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across business and IT teams.
- Team-oriented, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a group setting while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Capable of performing efficiently and professionally in a demanding, high-performance IT organization.
- Must be open to learning and working with other programming languages and platforms as needed.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in software development using the following.
- Database: SQL Server, No SQL
- Frameworks: Spring Boot, Angular 11+, NPM/Maven/Gradle, jQuery
- Application Servers: WebSphere, Tomcat
- Integration: MuleSoft, REST API, Event driven architecture
- DevOps: Jenkins, Git, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery
- Knowledge or experience in worker’s compensation insurance.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment with a strong emphasis on a product-focused approach.
- Knowledge/Experience in developing applications running on AWS.
