Our client, a well-established manufacturer of chemical solution handling systems for the hospitality market segment, has an immediate opening for an Automation Engineer with demonstrated experience in electrical design and analysis incorporating Allen Bradley PLCs and CPLD’s. This position will be responsible for providing design engineering services for new product development, sustaining operations and customer support. Relocation assistance available. This position requires up to 30% travel to customer locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for evaluating, quoting and releasing modifications of existing product lines, supporting production, evaluating and processing engineering changes, cost reductions and product improvement projects.
- Project management duties include working in cross-functional product development teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, with quality and within profit margins.
- Individual must be capable of translating incomplete customer requirements into useful technical specifications.
- Provide programming support activities with assembly language, C, C++, and visual basic.
- Create test procedures and circuit diagrams.
- Conduct hardware design (analogue, digital and microcontroller based) and software design (C, C++, visual basic and assembly language).
- Responsible for integrating components (electrical, electro-mechanical and mechanical) into complete operational systems.
- Perform circuit layout and design
- Work with Manufacturing, Purchasing and supply chain to bring suppliers under proper regulations as required (CSA, CE, RoHS, UL, ETL).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in electrical engineering field.
- Experienced in integrating components (electrical, electro-mechanical and mechanical) into complete operational systems.
- Experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs and CPLD’s.
- Ability to create test procedures and circuit diagrams.
- Knowledge of designing for CE, CSA, UL, ETL, KIWA, EN1717 and RoHS standards
- Academic or commercial experience with any of the following software languages: assembly language, C, C++, and visual basic.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering disciplines including hardware design (analogue, digital and microcontroller based) and software design (C, C++, visual basic and assembly language).
- Six-Sigma, VSM, JD Edwards experience a plus.
- Must be able to travel to customer locations, up to 30%
