Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, you will play a crucial role in our pilot production facility, and advancing the development of our cutting-edge technology that relies primarily upon Computer Vision and X-ray Fluorescence (XRF).
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, programming, testing, and troubleshooting a diverse range of computer equipment, graphics/GPU boards, digital I/O cards, DAQ cards, embedded controllers, industrial cameras, directed energy sensing equipment such as X-ray and laser scanners, and other sensors.
This role is suited to someone with a lot of real-world, mission-critical, on-call experience in a production environment, and skills in C++, Python, LabView, and Linux administration are required.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with:
- Industrial manufacturing environment
- C++, Python, and LabVIEW
- Electronics (DAQ/DIO cards, logic probe, oscilloscope, multimeter, embedded controllers, sensors)
- Computer hardware (particularly multi-GPU, RAM, SSD, motherboards, power supplies, etc.)
- Computer vision/robotics system components (digital cameras, motor controllers, etc.)
- Computer system configuration (power supply, motherboard, GPU, RAM, etc.)
- Operating systems installation and administration (Linux, Windows)
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS Computer Engineering or BS Electrical Engineering with strong Computer Engineering and Programming experience.
Skills/Experience:
- C++, Python programming (Cython, MicroPython, and CircuitPython a plus) and LabVIEW
- Microcontrollers/MCUs
- Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS)
- Understanding of design patterns and embedded system design patterns
- Ability to work with existing codebases
- Hardware test equipment: oscilloscope, logic analyzer
- Ability to read a schematic
- Basic understanding of Internet of Things (IoT) and internet-based technologies
- Demonstrated ability to excel in dynamic and ambiguous environments, lead complex projects, integrate feedback from team members and stakeholders, guide delivery from project scoping to conclusion, develop and grow team members, and create and maintain professional relationships.
