Electrical and Software Engineering Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead the Electrical and Software Engineering team to produce innovative, cost effective, and technically sound designs to meet or exceed customer requirements for a variety of products across several industries including medical devices for respiratory care, high precision pressure measurement, HART communicators, and Hydrostatic testers.
2. Electrical and Software engineering, project management, and overall product development for the complete product lifecycle from concept to commercialization within the defined stage gate process.
3. Identification of user needs, concept generation and selection, product design, specification development, verification and validation, pre-production planning, and post launch support.
4. Implements improvements to current product designs and supports legacy products through sustaining engineering activities.
5. Interfaces with customers and suppliers as required to resolve product and project issues.
Education and/or Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
2. Experience should include design, prototyping, validation of analog and digital circuits, layout of printed circuit boards, and use of ECAD tools for schematic capture & printed circuit board layout (Altium, OrCAD).
3. Experience with software and firmware on various operating systems and hardware platforms that consist of user interface, back end, and hardware interactions and that are reliable, sustainable, and reusable: highly desirable.
4. Prior exposure to various programming languages is desirable, for example: C, C++, C#, .NET, XAML, VB, ASM, Python, Java, Xamarin, Visual Studio with MSDN, Application, driver, & middleware development for Windows, Linux, or other OS.
5. Experience with Intrinsic safety design, HART, Foundation Fieldbus, and Wireless design is desirable.
6. 10+ years of professional experience required.
7. 2+ years of prior management experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
· Project Management Professional certification is desirable but not required.
