Job Title: IBMi RPG Developer
Location: Knoxville, TN (On-site with potential for hybrid work after an initial period)
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with our development team to design, develop, and maintain applications on the IBMi platform.
Create and maintain modular, scalable, and efficient RPG programs using RPG, RPGLE, and Free Format.
Work with SQL and Embedded SQL for data retrieval, manipulation, and database maintenance.
Communicate effectively with management, peers, business analysts and SQA team members.
Participate in code reviews, debugging, and optimization.
Contribute to the improvement of software development processes and best practices.
Qualifications:
Approximately 10 years of experience as an IBMi RPG Developer.
Proficiency in RPG, RPGLE, CL, and Free Format RPG.
Extensive knowledge of SQL and Embedded SQL.
Experience with modular design and a commitment to producing clean, maintainable code.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced development environment.
Nice-to-Have Qualities: While not mandatory, the following skills and experience would be a plus:
Profound UI and Profound JS for modernizing IBMi applications.
Familiarity with development tools such as RDI, Visual Studio Code, LMi, and GIT.
Experience with Azure or Atlassian work item tracking for project management.
Knowledge of X-analysis for application analysis and documentation.
Proficiency in NodeJS and JavaScript.
Open Source experience is a plus.
Leadership experience in managing development teams of any size.
