Description
Verily’s Digital Biomarkers team works on critical differentiating capabilities for our clinical studies business. The teams leverage AI/ML, sensors and devices (starting with the study watch but quickly expanding to 3P devices and apps), to better and more precisely measure what is happening with patients deeply and unobtrusively. The team also conducts state-of-the-art research to drive thought leadership in the field.
In this role, you will synthesize commercial pitches around our offerings and help identify the right partnership for the innovative work the teams would like to do. You will also help your team identify new ways to innovate our products and services and to rapidly grow the business using AI and data science.
You are comfortable navigating the clinical research world and have a strong foundation in clinical evidence generation. You will work with regulatory, privacy, and security experts to ensure that plans can be deployed globally. To accomplish these goals, you bring empathy, keen understanding of soft power, clear communication, and strong analytical skills that will help with influencing and collaborating cross functionally and across multiple levels of management.
Responsibilities
- Translate innovation into market-shaping products and work with external-facing teams to bring along customers and other external stakeholders, including regulators.
- Develop product strategy based on business, regulatory, legal, privacy, clinical, compliance, and technical considerations.
- Collaborate with engineering, clinical, and user-experience teams to prioritize compelling product and product features.
- Collaborate with business development, legal, and compliance to ensure timely and thorough execution of product development and commercialization.
- Collaborate with key opinion leaders, external partners, intra-Alphabet teams, and clearly communicates progress and hurdles to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of Software Product Management experience (i.e. creating strategic product roadmap(s) from conception to launch and working with cross-functional teams) from product strategy to launching and landing.
- Experience managing a product team in XFN environments.
- Experience driving the product vision, go-to-market strategy, and design discussions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience working in the AI, medical device, or pharma space, particularly with digital biomarkers. MS, MBA, MPH, MD, JD, or graduate degree in a management or STEM field.
- Experience operating within and across cross-functional teams (Product Management, Program Management, Engineering, Business Development, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Marketing, etc.) while selling product vision to external partners.
- Experience at large institutions, with demonstrated track record of forming, leading, and pivoting cohesive teams.
- Experience shaping and launching healthcare products in complex regulatory, reimbursement and policy environments.
- Domain knowledge in the medical industry including areas such as computer aided diagnostics, healthcare delivery, biotech, and pharma (or a strong desire to learn).
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $194,000 - $289,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
