The Product Manager, Cards is responsible for defining and executing on the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the credit union’s debit and credit card products. This scope includes both secured and unsecured card offerings, services and features across both the consumer and business product areas. This semi-autonomous and highly capable individual contributor will own all activities related to products within their area of scope, including opportunity analysis, change or enhancement decisions, backlog prioritization, and work acceptance criteria. Working closely with cross-functional subject matter experts, specifically those from Operations and Marketing, the Product Manager, Cards will support the creation and execution of a product roadmap that furthers our mission, supports our organizational strategy, and ensures seamless and consistent service experiences are delivered across all member touchpoints.
Essential Functions:
Define and manage a product roadmap for the credit union’s cards portfolio, including debit, secured credit, and unsecured credit offerings, establishing product vision, and setting product goals, collaborating with Operations professionals to manage relevant product lifecycle milestones from initial design through to rollout and sunsetting.
In concert with Operations, review product performance analytics; monitor and interpret internal/external business challenges; and use sophisticated analytical thought and judgement to identify solutions, courses of action and best practices to continuously enhance the member or end user product experience in alignment with organizational strategy.
Create and maintain a value-focused product backlog and continuously iterate, ensuring there are user stories scoped and prioritized at all times, to keep a regular release cadence of minimum viable products or minimum marketable features.
Serve as product owner of a cross-functional product pod, representing the voice of the member/prospect within the team; deciding and championing product requirements; and making autonomous decisions quickly and thoughtfully to move delivery forward in alignment with overall product vision and strategy.
Provide user story design, development, and completion oversight to a cross-functional product pod; accepting or rejecting user stories based on the agreed upon definition of “Done” and other acceptance criteria.
Support Product and Operations Leadership in the development and monitoring of objectives and key results (OKRs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) for products.
Work with cross-functional teams to get buy-in/approval/guidance, including lines of business, operations, legal, compliance, information security, fraud, and related functions.
