UWorld is seeking talented Print/eBook Production Artists to join our growing illustration department on a remote consulting basis. These individuals will be key contributors as we prepare brand new book materials for release. Minimum education:
- Associates Degree in Graphic Design or related field
Minimum experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in digital design or related work
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and InDesign
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of print/ebook layout, pre-press and finishing is preferred
- Confidently work in an environment with high expectations and tight deadlines
- Be receptive to feedback from peers and management
- Have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Continuously develop and expand professional skills
Job duties:
- Responsible for the creation, updating and testing of files for print/ebooks
- Import text into Microsoft word and InDesign templates for web and print publication
- Maintain consistency between eBook and Print versions
- Create vector graphics according to a style guide
- Analyze existing assets and content to match and innovate current style
- Communicate with content producers and peer reviewers on edits
- Collaborate with our teams to create novel ways of visualizing difficult concepts
- Collaborate with management and team members to ensure goals are met
- Help maintain an efficient and successful production process
- Adapt to shifting priorities and assist our on-site graphic artists as needed
- Communicate efficiently with remote teams
- Attend all required meetings and provide feedback when needed
- Create and maintain files for digital and print distribution
- Aid in file maintenance and asset management
- Work independently or in small groups to troubleshoot and provide solutions to production issues
