Job Overview
The Marketing/Social Media Manager works directly with the Chief Branding Officer. This role is responsible for the helping plan and execute all marketing activities for Fossil Creek Tree Farm and The Haven.
Including social media and email marketing. The ideal candidate gets excited when talking about plants, sun, and soil, can create eye-catching content including photos, videos, and graphically designed images, and knows how to create and execute a goal-achieving social media calendar. Addiitionally, this role is responsible for creating on brand collateral that will inspire and educate the customer’s shopping experience, ie., signage, thank you cards, tags, logo merchandise, candles, etc.
This position is for you if you are highly ORGANIZED, always thinking about sharing what’s around you on social media, and enjoy completing research to discover relevant tips and information to share through marketing material. The right team member is looking for a fun-filled environment and is excited about producing and scheduling daily content that draws in customers.
Job Details
· Develops marketing content ideas that achieve company goals
· Creates and manages a content calendar with daily content that is gardening/home decor relevant, promotes products with inspiration, and creates awareness of services and programs
· Researches gardening tips and facts to create timely and seasonal posts
· Creates and posts daily stories on multiple social media channels
· Answers questions and engages with the audience on all platforms
· Manages the scheduling, promotion, project management, audience engagement, and recordings of educational gardening classes
· Engages with outside content producers to increase awareness and shop traffic
· Selects and uses hashtags that target the appropriate audiences based on the post’s content
· Photographs daily activities, as well as events
· Plans and markets in store events (classes, hands on, artist markets, etc.)
· Produces a weekly content-driven newsletter in MailChimp
· Creates email marketing content that promotes sales and creates awareness of new products
· Monitors analytics to understand audience engagement and adjust future content
· Creates graphics for digital and in-person marketing
· Updates Shopify website with new products and promotions
· Assists Chief Branding Officer with projects as assigned
Requirements
· An existing portfolio, personal or professional, that shows your social media skills (Required)
· Marketing planning experience including social media and email marketing (Required)
· Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube from a business perspective (Required)
· A green thumb – gardening, indoor plants, or landscaping (Required)
· Strong photography skills, including taking flat lays, file resizing, editing programs (Preferred)
· Graphic design skills (Required)
· Content writing experience (Required)
· Experience with Shopify, Later, Klaviyo, Canva, or similar platforms (Required)
