Apple is looking for a Technology Development Engineer to join the Softgoods Engineering team to combine traditional engineering materials and textiles to enhance Apple’s existing product lines and to enable new technologies.
The Technology Development Engineer will work in a dynamic and creative environment to help determine the viability of new ideas and new technologies. The ideal candidate has a strong engineer background and extensive hands-on experience with process tools and large equipment, from machine design, setup and maintenance to process development and troubleshooting. This is a hands-on interdisciplinary role that will require curiosity and versatility across a wide range of disciplines in a highly collaborative environment to create breathtaking and highly functional products that will surprise and delight our customers. Experience in the textile manufacturing industry is a plus, but not a requirement and the person hired for this role will have the opportunity to learn by working closely with other team members.

Key Qualifications
Key Qualifications- Strong engineering experience developing innovative technical solutions and solving practical problems.
- Experience in equipment modification and process development in an R&D or early-stage environment, where objectives, deliverables, constraints and timelines are ambiguous.
- Flexible and collaborative mindset, willing to work in a fast paced product and technology development lab.
- Excellent organization and project management skills.
- Hands-on experience in the textile manufacturing industry a plus.
- Hands-on experience in lab operations a plus.
The Softgoods team works with traditional engineering materials and specializes in non-traditional engineering materials. Our mission is to use these incredible materials to enhance Apple’s existing product lines and to enable new technologies.
In this role, you will leverage your experience and technical skills to enable new technology development in our lab. Daily tasks will include brainstorming creative solutions to technical challenges, modifying and upgrading textile fabrication machines, develop and validate new processes, build prototypes and collect test data and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new product ideas

Pay & Benefits
Pay & Benefits- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,000 and $217,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
