Leidos is on the lookout for a passionate Mission Performance and Improvement (MPI) Advisor to join our team in support of the National Science Foundation and the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Our ASC MPI team is dedicated to ensuring that ASC's performance, risks, and incidents are well-managed using continuous improvement methodologies. We aim to reduce variability, promote alignment with programmatic objectives, and create a culture of effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability.
As an MPI Advisor, you will be responsible for providing guidance, training, monitoring, and reporting for performance-related activities throughout ASC. The best part? This position allows for 100% telework, so you can work from the comfort of your own home. However, keep in mind that deployment to Antarctica may be required at the discretion of management (frequency/length subject to flow of business). If you're up for the challenge, you must successfully complete the physical and dental examinations required by the National Science Foundation for deploying to Antarctica.

About the Antarctic Support Contract:
Leidos Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) is the prime contractor to the National Science Foundation (NSF) in support of the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Leidos supports the NSF’s Office of Polar Program’s Antarctic Infrastructure and Logistics by aligning with their Mission and Vision Statements:
Vision: Expanding our scientific reach in Antarctica through increased operational and logistical effectiveness.
Mission: To provide the operational and logistical platform necessary for the U.S. to conduct world-class science in Antarctica and maintain its active and influential presence on the continent.
Leidos ASC provides science and logistics support for approximately 150 science and technical events across three geographically remote research stations; McMurdo Station, Palmer Station, and South Pole Station and several deep field sites across Antarctica. Each station or field site supports world class research across multiple science disciplines. The planning and implementation of science support requirements in Antarctica is a critical part of our mission.

Deployment to Antarctica may be required of this position at the discretion of management. Eligibility for deployment will require a physical and dental evaluations with parameters determined by the National Science Foundation (NSF).Per contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.Failure to meet these requirements will result in withdrawal of employment offer or other employment action.
Develop processes and provide oversight to ensure adherence to the ASC framework for developing strategic plans; managing performance, risks, and incidents; driving consistency; and maintaining fidelity.
Collaborate with functional areas to ensure risks and incidents are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and handled.
Direct risk/incident/response owners through concept, planning, execution, and implementation phases for effective and timely action.
Facilitate the training and use of Continuous Improvement (CI) tools; mentor CI practitioners in developing their CI capabilities; coordinate with stakeholders to drive improvement efforts that create or correct trends toward favorable results.
Facilitate evaluation of scenarios to help process owners identify areas for improvement in projected outcome(s) or root cause(s) in actual result(s).
Assist management in crafting metrics that accurately measure progress of business and operational activities.
Perform ongoing coordination of performance management metrics, working with team members to evaluate the effectiveness/efficiency of operations.
Coordinate organizational change management efforts to enable the achievement of programmatic objectives.
Use business intelligence tools to evaluate data/trends and prepare reports.
Anticipate business needs and proactively identify indicators to strengthen the program’s ability to deliver through actionable insights.
Inform senior management on the status of programmatic threats, opportunities, and emerging trends; identify critical areas to monitor, and coordinate efforts to escalate incidents, findings, and feedback to appropriate stakeholders.
Assist leaders with translating deficiencies and potential advantages into action plans; provide recommendations to enhance practices in alignment with recognized frameworks.
Follow written policies and procedures for business activities.
What Sets You Apart:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science, Engineering, Statistics, or other job-related disciplines and 8+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Continuous Improvement certification
Demonstrated Continuous Improvement leadership through programmatic development and implementation of Lean principles.
Expert knowledge of one or more MPI disciplines (risk/incident/performance management; continuous improvement; strategic planning); ability to apply advanced principles and concepts.
Results and process-oriented mindset with an emphasis on creating and maintaining clear and effective communication.
A proven ability to direct teams, with or without positional authority, in complex evaluation, analysis, modeling, and communication activities.
Demonstrated ability to deliver technical projects with a team, often working under tight time constraints with many stakeholders involved.
A strategic mindset, energy and passion for elicitation, analysis, and advisory activities that improve the posture of the enterprise.
You Might Also Have:
Education and/or experience in Statistics, Psychology, Communications, or Performance Excellence.
Change Management/Organizational Change Management certification.
Project Management certification

Pay Range:
Pay Range $84,500.00 - $130,000.00 - $175,500.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
