Launched in 2007, Abriendo Puertas/Opening Doors (AP/OD) developed the nation’s first evidence-based leadership training program designed by and for Latino parents with children ages 0-5 and adopted by diverse communities across the country. The mission of AP/OD is to support Latino parents as leaders of their families and as their child’s first and most influential teacher in a home that is their child's first school. AP/OD uses a two-generation approach that invests in parents and caregivers to build leadership skills for promoting family well-being and positive outcomes for children. POSITION SUMMARY: AP/OD is looking for a proactive and creative Strategic Marketing Manager to join and grow with a dedicated team in scaling up to meet its ten-year goal of reaching 1M Latino families with young children across the US. The Strategic Marketing Manager will play a critical role in shaping and executing AP/OD’s strategic plan, bringing a detailed eye to the many layers of B2B and B2C marketing and partnerships that will be required to meet its audacious social impact goal. The ideal candidate has a passion for actualizing a strong strategic vision and being hands-on in managing and implementing impactful marketing activities to target audiences. The Strategic Marketing Manager will manage multiple communications, content, and creative contractors to achieve the marketing goals. This role requires flexibility, agility, and an abounding desire to accelerate social change.

Candidates should be self-motivated and outcome-oriented, with family and community engagement expertise, and with a strong commitment to education equity and family wellbeing. The ideal candidate would also be a passionate learner, willing to test, learn, and adapt using metrics to continue refining the value proposition, features, and channels to increase reach, conversions, and adoption.

This position is mostly remote work, but the hired individual must be willing to travel on occasion to the Albuquerque, NM, and Los Angeles, CA regions so they can attend meetings as needed and perform some tasks that may require in-person collaboration. The Strategic Marketing Manager is a full-time and exempt position with opportunities to grow with the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and implement AP/OD’s short- and medium-term marketing and communications strategies to achieve growth plans.
Oversee social media strategy and execution, advertising, and large-scale social impact campaign development, including vendor/partner management, where needed.
Develop marketing content and communications for external audiences, including earned and contributed revenue, parent-facing materials (B2C), or organizational partners (B2B)
Manage brand, data tracking, and mission consistency across digital and print platforms.
Manage technology tools, licensing, standardizing contracts, packaging of offerings, and subcontracting related to marketing and communications.
Regularly test marketing content and channels to continuously improve efficacy.
Identify opportunities for new outreach efforts, such as partnerships, and develop recommendations to drive strategic organizational decisions.
Evaluate product and market mix to understand areas of risk and opportunity.
Manage key conversion points in AP/OD’s Strategic Plan’s Conversion Funnels.
Assist with the development and management of sales CRM (Customer Relations Management).
Assist with marketing and delivery of programs and services to ensure all aspects of AP/OD’s programming goals are successfully implemented.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the rest of the AP/OD team with events, workshops, training, and fundraisers, including providing input in the development of an annual events calendar, managing marketing resources and collateral for events, and contributing as part of the team in delivering high-quality events and learning experiences.
Set annual and quarterly marketing goals and monitor the performance of lead generation, funnel performance, meetings booked, engagement, product launches, and automation.
Monitor metrics like engagement and conversion rates across the entire marketing funnel — ads, landing page, email, etc.
Experiment with new channels, technologies, and strategies to identify the best solutions/ actions and set scalable performance goals.
Support and guide senior leadership decision-making processes.
Other assignments and tasks as assigned/requested by the National Executive Director.

Project Management - Strong competency in project and time management across multiple initiatives. Ability to think strategically across projects to define marketing priorities through project planning.
Marketing Platform Capabilities - Mastery of marketing platforms used by AP/OD: Google Ads, Facebook, YouTube, WordPress, Mailchimp, LinkTree, TikTok.
Communication Skills - Ability to respectfully, clearly, and concisely communicate ideas and information in writing or verbally (such as in a presentation) to ensure that information and messages are understood and have the desired impact.
Strategic Thinking - Ability to develop a broad big-picture view including trends in the sector, emerging technology, etc., and link long-range visions to daily work.
Commitment - Strong personal commitment to social change, especially working with AP/OD’s target constituency.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required in English and Spanish.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of bachelor’s degree and three to five (3-5) years of related experience.
Three to five (3-5) years of full-time professional work experience in a social impact setting.
Expertise in conversion rate optimization, ideally for B2B and B2C approaches.
Skilled user of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google Apps.
Familiar with using a few types of marketing tools, such as: Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Tools, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Tools, Data and Analytics Reporting Tools, Social Media Tools, Content Creation Tools, Email and SMS Marketing Tools, Lead Generation and Capture Tools, and Marketing Automation Tools.
Preference Bilingual in English and Spanish.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: The Strategic Marketing Manager reports to the National Executive Director and works collaboratively with staff, contractors, vendors, and other partners.

SALARY RANGE: $70-80K Annually; The salary for this position is commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the individual candidate.
